BOX SCORE GAME ONE

BOX SCORE GAME TWO

MILLERSVILLE-- Bloomsburg's Tara Reed (Williamsport/Williamsport) went a combined five for eight and drove in three runs and pitched a complete game to lead the Huskies to a sweep of its doubleheader with Millersville University on Wednesday by scores of 8-3 and 6-3.

In game one, Reed went 3-4 with three runs scored, while driving in two to back Ashley Lynn's (Riverside/Danville) strong pitching. The Huskies got off to a quick start with three runs in the top of the first courtesy of a three-run homer from Jess Rosin (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison). After the Marauders got two back in the home first, the Huskies made it 4-2 in the third on Reed's first homer of the year. After Millersville closed to within 4-3 with a run in the fourth inning, then Huskies got an insurance run in the fifth on Reed's second solo homer of the game. In the seventh inning Nikki Shiko (Kulpmont/Southern Columbia) walked, stole second and later scored on a Millersville error.

Lynn finished with a five-hitter and gave up three unearned runs. She also struck out six and walked one to earn her 12th win of the year.

In the nightcap, the Huskies fell behind 1-0 in the bottom of the first, but got that back and more with a six-run second inning. Mandy Koch (Dauphin/Central Dauphin) doubled home two runs, while Jill Homyak (Lehighton/Marian Catholic) also doubled in a run. Later in the inning Reed, Shiko and Alyssa English (Wallacetown/Phillipsburg-Osceola) all drove in a run to make it a 6-1 game. The Huskies stretched their lead to 8-1 in the fifth when Stacey Krupiewski (Trooper/Methacton) hit a two-run homer.

Reed allowed eight hits in the game and walked two and fanned three to win even her record at 3-3.
